Race Report: Successful Living Scores Two Podium Finishes at Nature Valley Grand Prix

Escuela gives the team a boost with his strong finishes

June 15, 2008

This month marks the end of the longest road trip of the year, a six-week push with races in Oregon, Michigan, Washington DC, and
Pennsylvania. The team morale is high and the guys are motivated to finish strong.

Staying committed to finishing high in the NRC team rankings, the team has aggressively competed in 17 races in the last 6 weeks, which
included two grueling stage races.

Helping add to the team’s motivation is the recent addition of Argentinean Ricardo Escuela. After experiencing some rigid visa problems
early in the season Ricardo arrived onto the seen a little over two weeks ago eager to compete. With a handful of great results from last year
he is definitely the added energy the team has been looking for to push through the last few weeks of this road trip.

Picking up right where he left off last year Escuela made his way back to the podium halfway through the Nature Valley Grand Prix with a
third place finish in the well attended downtown Minneapolis Classic Criterium.

The most feared and final stage brought some exciting action with Brad White getting away solo for most of the race and earning the Most
Aggressive Rider jersey. At the end, it was young Canadian David Veilleux (Kelly Benefits/Medifast) taking the stage win and Successful
Living’s Ricardo earning 3rd making it his second podium appearance during this grueling stage race.

The mid-season road trip will come to a close next weekend at the Mighty Tour de Nez, in Reno, Nevada. The team has always excelled at
this event and has many fond memories on the streets of Reno, as it was only a few years ago where Curtis Gunn had the teams first ever
NRC victory.
