February 20, 2008
With the early season races already under way here in Southern California, and a little race called Tour of California happening this week,
Team Successful Living is staying focused and taking a little extra time planning its assault on the 2008 NRC calendar.
While anxiously awaiting the start of the NRC races in April, this year we scheduled three training camps designed to acquaint the new
riders with the old and get members who live in the colder parts of the country a break and expose them to some SoCal sun. The team will
also be competing in variety of early season California races to gauge their fitness prior to Redlands Classic.
Cody O’Reilly was the first to officially get the “monkey off the teams back” by winning his hometown race appropriately called “Mothballs” in
Santa Barbara. This victory is surely first of many as this year’s team looks to be the strongest yet.
Our Arizona team members Curtis Gunn and JR Grabinger have also racked up some podium placings and most recently top ten finishes in
the Valley of the Sun stage race.
From February 7-10 the team had their first camp that included Charles Dionne, Brad White, Cody O’Reilly, Christian Valenzuela, Eric
Bennett, and Chuck Coyle. The group put in some quality miles in near perfect weather. In four days the boys covered nearly 500 miles and
25,000 feet of climbing. The camp ended with everyone healthy and fitness levels at right where they should be around this time of year.
Second camp will start this week and we’re hoping for some great weather. Our official 2008 launch camp will be second week of March.
Thanks for reading.
